Because her overprotective mother Katherine (Cheryl Ladd, “Charlie's Angels”) has forbidden her to date boys, fourteen-year-old Lisa (Staci Keanan, “One Father Too Many”) invents a bizarre game to satisfy her youthful curiosity. Together with her friend Wendy (Tanya Fenmore, “My Stepmom Is an Alien”), Lisa decides to secretly follow attractive men, find out their phone numbers, and annoy them with prank calls. Until one day, Lisa surprises the handsome Richard (D. W. Moffett, “The Hanging Birds”) with anonymous calls, who mistakes her for an adult woman and develops an emotional attachment to her. Just as Richard has no idea that he is flirting with a teenager, naive Lisa has no idea that he is a psychopathic killer who has the whole town on edge.
